Photolog: Shuri Castle in Nawa

Shuri Castle in Naha, OkinawaShuri Castle is one of the most popular sightseeing place in Okinawa.

It was the palace of the Ryukyu kingdom.
You can feel and learn the Ryukyu’s unique history by waking through this castle site.

Unfortunately most of the constructions are not the original, because it was almost completely destroyed during the battle of Okinawa in 1945. They have reconstructed the castle in 1992 in commemoration of 20yeas since the return to Japan.

And in 2000, it was designated as the world heritage sight. This photo was taken in front of Shurei-mon gate.
